This roadmap sets out institutional steps for managing and sharing research data at European research universities. It covers policy and leadership, advocacy, selection and curation, description and citation, legal issues, infrastructure, costs, and staff roles and skills. Case studies show how LERU universities are developing services in these areas. The recommendations call for coordinated institutional policy, technical infrastructure and researcher support so that data can be preserved, discovered and reused where appropriate.
