The conference contribution presents the monist project as a way to bring computer simulations into teaching the neural and cognitive sciences. It argues that simulations can connect levels of analysis that are difficult to address through experiments or classroom explanation alone. The proposed monist-console combines simulations with topical material, teaching tasks, notes and course communication, while an authoring mode lets educators adapt or add content. The contribution frames practical teaching methods and evaluation as necessary alongside software development.
